ruining greek life?

4 of the 5 top hazing fraternities (KA, pike, phi delt, and ksig) all faced hazing allegations this past year; and im sure as a result, all 4 have or will be adjusting their style of pledgeship. I think stuff like these devalues the greatness of fraternities. The whole point of joining a fraternity is to seperate yourself from those who dont see the greatness in brotherhood; to seperate yourself from people who dont want to be apart of sometjing bigger than themselves. Hazing weeds out the weak guys from the strong guys, both mentally and physically; but with the top houses known for hazing having to soften their pledgeship, i think the possibility of going greek now looks less prestigous. If it wasnt hard, everyone would do it. Hence why greeks are superior to geeds on college campuses. So i want other inputs, is greek life losing its level of prestige due to ifc and the university condemning those who haze?
