who are the biggest self-rankers here?

Every house self ranks. Some houses are guilty to try and make themselves look better to pnms,others ate constantly accused of it because other houses are jealous of how successful they have become. I would say ADpi and AXO are the later for sure. It's typically houses ranked below them that want to bring them down and make them look bad bc their jealous or are afraid that they will pass them in the ranks. So these houses respond to the low ranks by "self ranking." I don't think people really care about self ranking, it's just a term used to call people out for high ranking their house (typically in response to low ranks given by jealous people)

Anytime somebody says anything nice about another house it's immediately blamed as a self rank. After Theta won RAMS this year I went to their page and congratulated them on another amazing performance and sure enough it was called a self rank. Also sometimes some houses are unfairly targeted and bullied and girls in other houses will say nice things about them to boost their spirits and those are called self ranks as well.

In reality it doesn't matter what a self rank does because as a PNM you will quickly get a feel for what houses are really top tier/middle tier/bottom tier and that's based solely on their credentials. A self ranking house cannot fake winning HOCO/GW/Doing well in grades and you'll see right away which houses have what you're looking for. Whether it be prestige or partying or sisterhood. There's a house that excels in each.

I'd ignore it and just enjoy your time before Recruitment :)

Another thing is house framing, where people will make it look like other girls are self ranking their own house. It's a mess. Like the girl above me sad you should really avoid the websites negativity and just embrace Recruitment once you get there.

Unfortunately, there are those girls that ARE that insecure about their houses. Let's admit it, ladies, some people accepted their bid just to be Greek. You know the kind, the girls who accepted a bid from a sorority they think is "beneath" them, and they say things like "My house is good at whats-its-name-college". They are the ones who desperately want to make their house better, if ONLY on a website (cough, AXO, SSS, maybe SK)or have a grudge and low rank other houses because that's the house they REALLY wanted but got cut. It's sad. I think I feel sorry for the other girls in the house. Don't be that girl! Stay off this website, and enjoy your sisterhood.

No one is trying to bash Sigma. If you read the threads on their page it says it a lot. AXO was mentioned as a serial self-ranker, and so was ADPi. I think poster #2 has it right.

And not to mention both ADpi and AXO are decent houses, they don't need to make themselves look better on a website. Neither house is a top house, but they're not bottom houses either. I'd have to say they get bashed on bc they both have good things going for them.
Some houses just can't handle that, get jealous and low rank them like crazy.

OMG who cares. Just go through rush and figure it out from your experience and what other people say there. Of course people are going to self rank if it makes you look better so why even trust 90% of whats said on here. Some people are actually genuine and help explain the rush stuff but any kind of house opinion threads are going to be unreliable. That's like asking a salesman about their product compared to others, of course theyll tell you whatever makes it look good.

I guess what we're all saying is, all houses self-rank. Habitually. Get off MGR because its all just mean spirited lies. Get a tan, shop for recruitment, hang with your HS friends one last time or just read anything but this page.

I just can't stand the lies and hateful remarks which are so ridiculously untrue. This year when Zeta got recognized for a great recruitment, they got ripped. They got better grades, got ripped again. Last year when Sigma was recognized for a great recruitment, they got ripped (and it has continued for over 2 years now), Delta Gamma's page makes it appear that they have now descended to the lowest of lows - the bottom tier, which is complete crap, and by the looks of AXO's and KD's page one would think they're more appealing than the one's I just listed. The fact is DG is better and KD, Sigma, AXO, and Zeta are all neck and neck, no matter what the comments say. They're all fighting over the same girls and want the best of the average.

And SK will finish below all of them near Phi Mu following recruitment. Most incoming freshmen would rather have an established house with all ages, established traditions, knowlegable executive boards, etc. Their inexperience will show during recruitment.
