It's hard to pick a favorite. I could tell all the girls were very passionate about their philanthropy and I was not expecting to cry so much. I cried the hardest at Sigma Kappa and Delta. The girls at Delta really moved me with my one on one convos and the video that SK showed really hit me hard because I lost my grandpa to Alzheimer's. Overall it was a really great round that made the decisions that much harder.

OMG THIS ROUND WAS MY FAVORITE SO FAR! Every house does such great things! Sigma kappa by far has the saddest one!

i think there are a couple phianthropies that hit everyone the hardest. delta, sk, axo, and theta all really got me emotional. i really liked being able to see beyond the partying and whatever else people think about sororites. it was a lot to take in but it's been my favorite so far.

Anyone who chooses a sorority based exclusively on its philanthropy, which is just a small part of what a house stands for, is making a mistake. EVERY house has a philanthropy. EVERY house works hard for it, though sporadically. EVERY house has a national that produces a video to show during recruitment, with the opportunity to drop in a few local images. If you love a philanthropy that much, make a donation. But don't choose who your sisters will be for life based on some cause that is important to a bunch of longtime committee member alums far, far away.

Philanthropy Round plays a role in the overall decisions PNMs make - quit dogging someone for becoming emotional during these presentations.

Nobody's "dogging" anyone. Just putting it in perspective. You don't choose a sorority based on the talent of a videographer.

is a part of one of those silly sororities that were cursed with those "literacy"/reading philanthropies... 😳

Yes, we know you obviously have something against literacy. But some of us think you need it to read in order to succeed. Silly us. (PNMs, keep in mind local chapters don't choose their philanthropy. It is determined by nationals.)

I'd rather help sick people than people who can't read. Sue me.

Hahahaha y’all realize you wouldn’t be in college if you didn’t know how to read

Last time I went through Philanthropy Round we learned the projects weren't aimed at college students, but often those less fortunate or those who are in need. But, hey, I guess it's all about you and if you think you're literate, no one else needs any help, right?

Ahh, you guys totally missed my point.. I was trying to get across the fact that literacy/reading philanthropies are important! That they may not pull on the heartstrings like other philanthropies, but reading is important because without it none of us would be where we are! Didn't mean for it to come across as negative, my b.

no one said reading isn't important but most other philanthropies help save lives... good luck reading when you don't have your health

i Don’t think it is the name or the cause of the philanthropy that draws me but how you can support it. Philanthropies that work toward a cure are awesome but I don’t just want to fund raise or write a check. I want to go further, dig in and be a hands on part of a solution.

there is no single philanthropy that is more noble than the others. yes, some are easier for people to connect with because of broad appeal but all of them are important. each of our chapters does an incredible job raising funds and awareness for their philanthropies and that in itself is a reason to celebrate. anyone who can't see that needs to take a step back and think.

While this is true, there is also nothing wrong with ranking a sorority lower because you don't connect with their sorority and higher because they do.
