need some advice
by: Advice?I plan to go through recruitment but now I'm having second thoughts. I was at a dinner the other night with some girls already in sororities at Mizzou and they said they loved being greek, but that I should be aware that there is a sort of caste system and that some sororities are very acceptable and some aren't and you get judged easily. Is that true? I don't know these girls well and I don't know if they are being fair or if they are just beotches.

There is a hierarchy in every Greek system at every school in America. It's inevitable. The more desirable houses will be able to choose from the best candidates, thus perpetuating their desirability, etc etc. So yes, there are tiers at Mizzou. But to call it a "caste system" is wildly overstating it. With a few exceptions, nobody will ever judge you based on what "tier" your house is, and the people who do will generally never appear on your radar anyway. There are hundreds of girls in EVERY house. You'll never even have the time to interact with all of THEM, let alone the thousands of other sorority girls across Greektown. You won't have the time or energy to even notice if anyone is looking down on you. And anyway, the mega-majority of all the women in Mizzou sororities, even the elite ones, are absolute sweethearts and are really dedicated to the principles of sisterhood and positivity. You'll be fine, no matter what house you're in.
