by: RiddleMeThisMy brother goes to Mizzou but opted not to join a fraternity. I likely will be following a long line of Mizzou grads, too, but I would like to join a fraternity. My dad was in a house that no longer exists (it closed in the 90s) and my brother thinks a bunch of fraternities have closed lately, but he doesn't know which ones or why. Could anyone help a prospective student out by listing which frats are gone and maybe why? My dad keeps telling me about his adventures with guys from different frats and then we find out they don't exist any more either. HELP!

What, in y'alls opinion, is the cause of all of these closures? Nationals cracking down and having zero tolerance? More oversight by the university? More of a sense of entitlement by frat guys who didn't think they would be caught? This list is significant. Have we reached a breaking point?

I don't think they bought it. I was involved in another Greek real estate transaction at Mizzou and TKE simply didn't have the funds to to swing that kind of purchase. I would guess the Phi Kaps are making some basic renovations to get a re occupancy permit. That is about as valuable a spot in Greektown as you can get and Phi Kaps have a long history and lots of alums to just let that go. They will be back.
