If you had to pick one which house would you go with

If we were to talk only about superficial things:

Theta Chi and Lambda are similar in numbers (116 vs 124)

Lambda’s new house will be done this year but Theta Chi will have to wait until 2019 to recieve an older house. However the Theta Chi house be in the heart of Greektown while Lambda’s will be some distance away. Either way though you won’t be living in-house as a Freshman so it doesn’t matter.

Theta Chi has a shorter pledgeship compared to Lambda by around 4-weeks.

Both Lambda and Theta Chi are known around campus for being standup guys and also for having a great brotherhood. Knowing both Lambdas and Theta Chis I can say that every brother cares about each other and is willing to stick out for one another.

Both Lambda and Theta Chi don’t have a reputation for hazing. Rumor is that Theta Chi got in trouble for some activities last Spring and Lambda underwent investigation from Nationals but neither turned up anything serious and both got off with very minor sanctions.

Theta Chi is known for throwing good tailgates and darties while Lambda is seen as a more serious and academically focused house. If it were up to me I’d go Lambda because it’s a bit more established on campus, but if I went Theta Chi too I would happy also.

You really can’t go wrong with either. Both houses are rising quickly to take the places of SAE and Pike.

Because if you can't go Greek, go TKE. And if you can't go TKE, go home.

Completely indifferent on TKE, but they are not getting a house in Greektown.

TKE might have a good house but the issue with them is that they don't have the numbers (70-80 is not a good spot for a fraternity to be in) or the quality of guys to truly ascend to the middle or top tier. Lambda and Theta Chi, on the other hand have both the numbers and quality to compete with the traditional top tier fraternities with the exception of probably Beta.
