The sorority grades are about what you would expect. ChiO, Theta and PiPhi are the top three, as usual. Rounding out the top five are KD and ADPi. As usual, TriSig and Alpha Phi are bringing up the rear, much lower than the All Sorority average and also falling below the All Female and All Greek average. Heed these stats. If academics are important to you, pledge a house where that's a priority and you will get support for working hard to reach your potential. If grades don't matter and you are just here to party and hang on until you flunk out or drop out, there's a house for you, too.

Once again we learn that fraternities hardly attract the best or the brightest. In fact, of 33 frats, only 6 have a gpa above the all-school average. I think we can logically conclude that frat life makes you stupid.

By: Shocking!
by: Question

Does frat life make you stupid, or are only stupid men attracted to frat life? It's a chicken and egg thing, isn't it?

Use the info in the reports - along with the Greek Life "Scorecard" - as a guide as you are getting ready to go through recruitment.

Except for the six fraternities above average, there is NOT ONE fraternity that should be boasting about grades. If you think Beta Sig stands out, you are mistaken. The vast majority of the fraternity system should be embarrassed. The thing is, they aren't. So if you take school seriously, care about your future and have a modicum of self-respect, stay far, far away from Mizzou's frat scene.

They still do better on average than the all male average and the all freshman male average. It is clear that statistically being greek is not necessarily a negative for your GPA. Your really should be saying, on a whole the male average is crappy compared to the female average. It would be interesting to see the major breakdown and the demographics of each major.

your house doesn't dictate how well you do in school you stupid troll

Your house absolutely dictates the amount of support you receive from the people you live with concerning studying and your commitment to academic excellence. You are a fool if you don't acknowledge this. When you are in a house where you are expected to do well, you find yourself measuring up to that standard. Clearly most fraternities don't have that standard, nor do the handful of sororities who are perennial bottom-dwellers when it comes to grades. And you know who you are.

If you're God's gift to academia then why do you need so much support from your greek organization that you are unable to succeed on your own? Truth is the only people who need "support" from their greek orgs academically are the ones who are nearly flunking out. I didn't join my greek org with any expectation they would help me maintain a perfect GPA and if you did then you're in for a shock whether you're in the house with the highest GPA or not. Do us all a favour and don't suggest that "anyone who is serious about their grades shouldn't join a fraternity." If you're serious about your grades even MORE reason to join because you're the type of individual who is level-headed enough to balance it all.

Sorry if you can't manage a 4.0 while partying on the weekends but MANY of us can. I know literally no greek person who joined a sorority for the purpose of "getting academic support from their brothers/sisters." Maybe you would understand that if you weren't a GDI. GDI giving our pnms advice? God no, please stop.

Not everyone has got the self-motivation or the discipline to study on their own. Frats and sororitys should be helping members who struggle with their grades/studies.

by: not really

They have to do it on their own, no amount of study hours or tutoring can help a student that doesn't care about school. Trust me, I tutored for many years and the student is either dedicated or they're not. Greek organizations aren't to blame for a student with no motivation, that's personal.

When you tutored, did you ever learn about semicolons? Because your writing is sorely in need of better punctuation. But, hey, if you insist you have a 4.0,. good for you.

😂you know you've lost an argument when you resort to correcting grammar (minus 10 pts if the correction relates to semi-colons)
