There are many good sororities. If I weren't in my own house I would be proud to wear the letters of several others, including (in no order) Theta, Kappa, TriDelt, PiPhi, GPhi, ADPi, DG, Zeta. All have chill girls and are on firm financial footing and either have a new house or really attractive houses, which means the alums are supportive too.

The consensus between me and my friends is G Phi, A Phi and Tri Delt. This is of course all very subjective. People will defend their sorority til the day they die. There is a bunch of good houses that I think a lot of people would happy to be in. This includes a lot of the houses listed above in the other comments.

No one takes Alpha Phi seriously except the one sad girl who keeps coming on this site and saying they are a great house. Their grades suk, their retention is the worst and their physical house is not attractive. They are not strong financially (which explains why they don't have a new house) and while you might make friends, there is not guarantee the girls you hang with will be around next semester or next year. So just stop, Alpha Phi. Besides, do you really want to take the advice of some dumb girl who says things like "me and my friends" or "there is a bunch of good houses." I mean, have a little pride.

Correct, when I go into recruitment i'm looking for cute girls who want to party. When I went into rush I looked for the same in a sorority. I COULD NOT care less if my sister/friend/whoever has a 3.0 or a 3.5, as long as they're happy and good/fun people, i'm happy to spend time with them. Look down on it all you want but i've made a lot more genuine connections at parties than I do in the library.

Why is it that stupid girls think being cute and wanting to party is the end all and be all? Oh yeah, I guess that's why they are in college. In the meantime, those of us who are smart and pretty and likable and well-rounded and in a top house just feel bad about how small-minded you are.

Oh gosh I'm sorry, I guess I should start holding my friends and sisters to the same academic standards that I hold myself to... That'll really strengthen our bonds, I think. Thanks so much - always appreciate the advice of my elders!
