fraternity grade requirements for incoming freshman

by:

I’ll be attending mizzou in the fall from out of state and I’m a little confused on the incoming freshman grade requirements. Coming out of high school my GPAs around a 2.5. I know this certainly isn’t the best so my question is will I be eligible to rush a fraternity and if so will any house even look at me. Thanks

Sorry it’s actually a 2.9 but not sure if that makes a diff.

You’ll need a good ACT/SAT to balance it out and a good reason why your GPA is so low.

Focus on informal instead of just formal bc that can screw you with grades

Grades aren't a high priority for most houses. You can tell by their college GPAs. If you are worried about your grades and need time to study to do well, the fraternity environment might not be for you.

This is literally just completely false. Most of the good houses don’t take guys under a 3.0. I don’t know who your information is from.

First of all, a 3.0 in high school sux, especially nowadays when A's are handed out like candy and most schools have weighted grades. Second, if you have to be so smart to get into a fraternity, what happens? The overall frat GPA is terrible and it's not like Mizzou is Stanford or even U. of Illinois. Third, if someone needs to work on their grades, suggesting they not join a fraternity is excellent advice since few houses make studying a priority. The proof is in the GPA, Uhhh. If you were smarter you could figure that out.

Your options are going to be cut in half but some will still sign you. My fraternity in particular would still take you and we finished top ten in grades this year. Do formal and ask what their GPA requirement is.
