is age a factor or grade(sorority)
by: PnmI’m starting school in the fall here, I Took a close to two years off after high school and traveled Asia and Europe. So I was wondering if i could still rush ? Ill be a freshman and there for four years I’m just a bit older. I don’t know the Greek system so I don’t even know if your age is known or just your grade and gpa ect? Thanks for any help

If you see yourself hanging with mostly freshman I would say you should rush. Most of your best friends will be women in your pledge class. Of course you will make friends with other members but you will spend a lot of time your first year with the women in yo recruitment class.

To echo what the person above me said, yes, you'll be friends with the people in your pledge class most likely. Some chapters offer bids to girls who rush sophomore year, so you might not be a full 2 years ahead of everyone with you. Also, you'll still have 4 full years with the girls in your pledge class so that would be nice.
I think your 2 years of travel would be something really great to talk about during rush! It will help you to stand out as unique among a ton of girls who are coming straight out of high school. Good luck!

I would definitely give it a shot if you’re interested! Just letting you know there is a big grade cut that is made so gpa from high school does kind of play a role, not just age. If you were to join a sorority, you would most likely spend time with your pledge class which is typically mostly freshman. Best of luck!
