can i join a fraternity as a junior?
by: Business Major
I will be a junior next fall. I'm wanting to join a fraternity. I really didn't want to my first year because I was really focused on grades. I want to join a good fraternity and not a "frat" or a lower tier one. Is it good to join one as a junior?
I've been looking at Delta Tau Delta, Delta Chi, Sigma Chi, and a few others. Which ones are best for me? I am focused on grades, brotherhood, good parties.
The main thing I have going for me are grades (3.91 GPA), very social, and I even own my own business and manage an entire team under me (a legit business making bank; not just a hobby so that should look really good)
Any suggestions? Should I even join as a junior?

Why in the world would you want to join a fraternity at this stage of your life? It sounds as if your sht is much more together than most fratboys' ever will be. Do yourself a favor and move forward, not backward. You don't need to surround yourself with pimply, immature boys who most likely will be more interested in having you buy liquor for them than become a true friend.

Don't waste your time. Coming from someone who pledged as a sophomore it will only hold you back, especially with all you have going for you. There are better and more important things in life than trying to fit into the party scene that is the "frat life" honestly it's overrated

It seems like you have your own thing going for you and that is great. But, to be honest, if youre joining just to party, you are joining for the wrong reason. Also, after youre done pledging, you will get 3 semesters of being an active, which just isnt worth it considering a lot of seniors in their fraternities dont go to the house and participate nearly as much as the freshman and sophomores.
