rush questions

Do you have friends in houses here? My house's grade cut off is a 3.2, but if we know a girl going through rush had some kind of legitimate reason (like family/medical issues), then we can go explain the situation to the recruitment chair and it usually works out. I'm pretty sure most houses here do the same thing. If you could have friend put in a good word for you and explain how you've improved so much, it could help a lot.

No, I don't know anyone at mizzou, im actually coming from out of state. But would there be a way to present this to the houses that I would be rushing other than knowing someone?

I came to Mizzou from out of state and didn't know anyone as well and I also had a 3.0. I didn't get into a top tier house, but I couldn't be more happy with what house I did get in! I would definitely still rush. You may get cut from some houses because of grades, but my schedule was still full after almost every round. In conversation you could explain how over the last couple of years you realized how important your grades are to you and that you have really turned them around recently. This would help the sororities understand more about why your grades are at where they are and also help you find a house that will fit your academic expectations.

Hi, I went into rush last year with no recs, at 3.1, without knowing anyone in a house. I got asked back to multiple houses each day and I'm in an upper mid tier house now. But, keep your mind open. Be friendly, sweet, and make sure to let every house know what makes you stand out from everyone else!

My house doesn't really take anything into consideration as far as reasoning for grades, but grades are only a small part of what matters. If you're great then you'll relate to the girls that matter most and are most liek you!
