Had not heard about the new listing requirement. Thanks.
Registered for informal. So the chapters know I’m interested and will see my grades and activities.
Is there any thing else I should do to get noticed or show my interest? Don’t want to be a pest.
Also, PHA is not going to do any kind of orientation, correct? I am just a freshman and did not go through formal so I feel pretty uninformed. I’ve chatted with a few new members but they didn’t seem to be that informed. It would be nice if a few seasoned Members would volunteer to act as pi chis for us newbies. Just a q and a session or two over coffee would be greatly appreciated.

One last question please, should I expect a reply to my email?
I actually sent one at the beginning of the week before the grade report was published, and just put together my email list of those chapters from the list that invite inquiries.
Only one chapter indicated on their website that they try to get back to inquiries within 24 hours.
Not expecting anything but am curious.

Whether you are a troll or actual Pnm or active or whatever you are way overthinking this. Chapters need members from time to time for various reasons. Some need a few some need more. It doesn’t mean they are a “bad” chapter, and this happens at other schools too, not just here. Some will grab a few friends of actives, some will run a more open recruitment process. Staring at numbers isn’t going to help get you into a house. The Greek system has its ups and downs and so do chapters. What matters is the relationships you make here and that has nothing to do with stats and membership trends. Follow the advice on here, contact alll chapters listed whether you think they are just picking friends or not. It’s not that big of a project. Meanwhile, join some clubs, get to know girls in chapters whether on your floor or in clubs. That way, if you don’t get an invite for informal this spring, you will be prepared to rush formally in the fall.

I've said this before and gotten dragged for it, but it's worth repeating: informal is a great option that if chapters can take, they should. It let's them hand pick amazing women who might have slipped through the cracks during recruitment or who didn't rush but became interested. It financially supports a house (and don't buy the BS that "good houses don't need the money"; everyone in the chapter benefits from larger budgets). I think more and more chapters are coming around to the idea. Additionally, since PHA made it mandatory to list yourselves, a lot of "secret" informal bidding was outed and the stigma went away.
I don't know how many chapters will be having open informals and how many will just be inviting friends - I just know that I'm proud as a PHA women that more and more chapters are realizing what a great opportunity COBing is!
