Only indisputable top houses are Pi phi and Chi O
Closely followed by theta, kappa, axo, gphi
others may suggest tri delt (who has fallen), or adpi
these 8 houses are the strongest at mizzou, but the top houses are solely based on opinion and what the individual values the most.

Adpi - you really gotta cool it. glad you had a better recruitment and all but last year you were solid low mid tier. One decent pledge class doesn't move you to top tier. You still need 3 more decent rushes before people will even consider you for top mid tier. Right now, kappa, theta, and axo all are more desirable houses (they compete with each other).

ADPI you are literally turning into a wannabe/desperate house like Zeta. Just stop while you're ahead. You're the only ones who are taking jabs at AXO and saying they had a bad rush. no one else thinks that and it's making your house look really bad because everyone knows you're trying to bring them down just to jump them in the ranks. quit bashing houses that you're jealous of.

Dude I'm sorry AXO cut you but you really need to lay off. AXO killed rush. Everyone knows that. My baby sister is an axo, I'm sad she didn't join my house but I'm glad she's happy where she's at! and I've actually seen and met a lot of her sisters. That's more than you can say. Give credit where credit is due, that's how the Greek world works. Bein salty bc you got cut from your favorite house won't make you happy in your own house. Best advice is to let it go and be happy in your own house. You'll find the system works the way it supposed to. ADPi may not have been your first choice, but you're never goin to be happy if you don't give it a fair shot.

ChiO is a huge national chapter. They are strong on this campus but are not a house every pnm ranks as their top choice. No disrespect meant-they are amazing girls-but this business of them being top tier is crazy-if top tier is what pnm want AND what the campus sees them as. times change..

The definition of "illiterate" is someone who is unable to read or write. If you try to read what "What?" wrote, you will find that she clearly is unable to write a cogent thought and has a less than passing knowledge of grammar and punctuation. In other words, she doesn't know how to write. And before you accuse me of being petty or insist your spellcheck or autocorrect are to blame, keep this in mind: if you decide to come on this site and hurl insults at a person or a house, you'd better express it in an understandable and flawless way, or you open yourself up to criticism.

There is nothing in "huh?'s" post that is a try-hard SAT word. You're in college now. Time to learn how to use an on-line dictionary and up your vocab. It always makes me laugh on this site when someone accuses others of using big words and I can't figure out which words they don't understand. When your vocabulary is that limited, you might not want to let others know.

Based on desirability from PNMs, selectivity and all-round high standards, I would list top tier as: ChiO, PiPhi, Theta, GPhi, ADPi and Kappa (tie).
--If TriDelt stays on its current path, it could reclaim top tier status.
--AXO was gaining ground after hanging around the bottom of the middle tier until a few years ago, but stumbled a bit during this year's recruitment, so it still has a way to go.
--GPhi remains on the precipice. Always a one-dimensional house, it hasn't done anything to raise its standards. PNMs are looking for more, as evidence by this year's recruitment when GPhi didn't do very well. GPhi better work a little harder or it, too, will fall out of the top tier.
--Either ADPi or Kappa could claim the 5th spot because both are very good houses. If pressed, I think I would give the edge to ADPi because it never seems to rest on its laurels but keeps raising the bar and trying harder. Plus its house is nicer.
--As for other tiers, SK was on the rise but seems to have become complacent. It has to work harder to get out of the bottom tier. Zeta has stepped it up lately and its new house helps. Ditto for DG. Both are middle tier. APhi is riddled with problems: sisterhood issues, poor grades, too one-dimensional. It now is hovering at the top of the lowest tier and needs to do something about its house and its retention. I thought both PhiMu and Sigma had a good rush and are working hard to recruit solid girls.
--If any houses are in jeopardy, I would say it's Sk and APhi. SK has tried and failed on this campus twice before and needs to step it up. APhi doesn't seem to have much alumni or national support. It needs to have an intervention to get rid of the dead wood and insist that standards be raised while they COB (as they do every semester).

As long as houses just take friends of friends as the COB, they will never improve. They will just have more of the same mediocrity. COBing is an opportunity to seek out and get the best women available and the houses that really want to get better will seize that opportunity.

Top tier: chi o and pi phi.
Arguable top:
theta, gphi
Arguable because they have a niche, but they're among the next in their pariticular niche.
Tri delt is solid mid tier. Rough couple years and nothing's spectacular this year.
Gaining ground in upper mid tier: kappa, axo, adpi
Kappa and axo had outstanding recruitment turn outs out of a all the sororities. Adpi finally got back in the game with a better recruitment that may help them move from low mid tier to upper mid tier but 1 pledge class doesn't solidify them there yet.
TOP houses in order: chi o/pi phi, theta/gphi, kappa/axo

Thanks, AXO, but a couple of good years haven't propelled you from near bottom tier to top tier. If you can sustain it going forward, you might have a chance. But there are houses like Kappa and ADPi that have had high standards for many years longer than you have. But this year's rush for both GPhi and AXO was a disappointment, so I see both falling, not gaining ground.

If you were actually on campus you would know that gphi is remodeling house next year and this recruited class won't get to live in house. Obviously if someone was torn between two houses at all, this can be a huge factor during recruitment. Just a reality check here

I will be rushing next year as a sophomore due to wanting to wait to see if I wanted to even be in the sorority and spend the money required. First off every one of you should be proud being in ANY sorority regardless of tier! In my mind top tier based on all around reputation is pi phi -chi o- theta and kappa. I will be happy with any house however!!

ADPi had a better rush than either AXO and GPhi. It also has consistently kept its standards high while TriDelt was going through its troubles. I think top tier should be PiPhi. ChiO, Theta, ADPi and GPhi, in that order.
