Are recs completely necessary? I'm rushing in a few months and need to get my ducks in a row. :)

Nope! Some houses prefer them but they are not required. Never hurts to have them though :)

You'll either get in a house or you won't. I had 3 letters for one house and I didn't even make it to the second day with them.

I had a rec letter for one house from a former president of that chapter back in the 80s. talked to a super awkward girl (weird bc it was a top house) and didn't even make i past the first day....

Recs are necessary for all the top houses but that still doesn't guarantee you will be asked back. Lots of things are considered!

you have them. It can't hurt you and it might be the edge that gets you in a house you want.
