Well, maybe I didn't.

Just because it is rated high doesn't necessarily mean it is hard.

The person who continually bashes journalism on this site is clueless about what she is talking about. Does she really think it is easy to balance other academic requirements while pulling shifts at the regional television or radio stations, being on call to show up at an accident site or in the middle of a storm at a moment's notice while thinking on your feet and reporting the news accurately and succinctly? Does she really think it's easy to report on a major sewer project or TIF district on deadline when you might not be familiar with the terms or jargon? Does she really think it's easy to edit a major 1,000 word write-thru on deadline so that it can be published minutes later online without any spelling or grammatical mistakes, and then put a headline on it with a limited character count? Journalism majors aren't producing for the school newspaper, you know. They are accurately and responsibly informing the public via TV news, radio news, multiple print platforms and more -- on deadline. And if she thinks it's so dam easy, she should try it. News gathering is more important than ever today and no one has a better background in it than a Mizzou J-School grad.

Not "the girl who bashes journalism" but all those things you mentioned arent your main curriculum, journalism majors will admit it's fairly easy to get A's in their major so to suggest it's comparable with engineering, for example, is just insane.

Not the main curriculum? Girrrllll, you need to stop acting the fool. Practical work on community media not only is a huge part of the curriculum, it is the most important part. It is the most time-consuming part. It is the part that provides tapes and clips and examples of our work for prospective employers and it is the part that results in references and recommendations from faculty editors. Be sure to let us know when you are going to rip us from a position of actual knowledge rather than speculation. Until then, you have no credibility. There is a reason our J-School is the best in the nation. It's called the Missouri method. Look it up. It might help.

Every major listed requires extensive work outside of the classroom in order to prepare for future employment. Journalism is not unique in that aspect. Hours of labwork, internships, co-op programs, etc. Not to mention all while preparing for an extensive 7 hour long exam for those that wish to go to med school or the field of law. The question was which field of study is "hardest" not which has a "lot of work."

Just to clarify-your category of nursing/physical therapy and ot include a 4 year-and a graduate level of study.
OT and PT are GRADUTE level
Nursing is included in the other categories you included
And fyi, if you are truly looking for the hardest majors, you should include if you have to apply for those majors or are just an automatic admit based upon your gpa(at least one you mentioned above needs a 2.8 for admittance-no application or interview needed)

Why the hell is agriculture grouped with STEM ? Might as well move that to arts LOOOOL

Also prelaw is arts and doesn't belong with business. So random... I like the idea of this post though. PS: lmfao at the nursing students who voted nursing to be harder than premed, engineering, etc. If nursing was more difficult than premed/sciences you'd all be doctors. You chose nursing because you aren't smart enough to get an MD. Smh

I wouldn't think of Journalism as academically rigorous. There are no complex concepts like math and science courses. Ther is no "new language" to learn. Only adding to your vocabulary. I am not saying anyone can be a good journalist, but I don't think of it as academic. It is more a skill that you learn.

I'm a physics major and to me the hardest major would be art because I absolutely suk at it. The next hardest? Journalism, because I couldn't write a news story if I spent all day on it. Do you not understand that people choose to major in something that interests and comes easily to them? I've never gotten anything lower than an A in my science classes from the time I was a kid because chem/bio/physics etc. just make sense to me. Computer stuff, too. That's why this is one of the stupidist posts I have ever seen on here. Totally subjective don't you think?

This is the stupidest thing I have ever read on this site. Every major is hard if you don't have an affinity for it, and every major is easy if that's where your intellectual strengths lie. Hint: that's why there are so many majors and so many careers. Duh...
