houses

by:

As you make your final selections after Pref parties, please note that while having a new/updated house is exciting/alluring, what matters most is what's inside...the heart of the house...the sororities' sisterhood.

The bonds you form with the girls at your physical "house" will last long after you graduate from Mizzou...and will sustain/supply you in both bad and good times.

Most members only live in their sorority house one year (at the most).

So being in a sorority house with a strong/faithful sisterhood bond is very important.

Choose wisely tomorrow, and let your heart help guide you to your forever home/sisterhood.

If you're implying a sorority with a new house can't have a strong sisterhood, you're wrong. The two aren't mutually exclusive. sorry your house is a dump.

Perhaps some insecurity regarding Zeta and DG because of their new houses. Threatened a bit?

No, merely pointing out that s new/renovated house doesn't always automatically point towards a great or solid sisterhood/brotherhood, that is all.

As a cautionary tale - look what happened to DU - a brand new fraternity house got them nowhere.

Nor does a new/renovated house automatically point towards a bad sisterhood. I really am having trouble trying to figure out your point. While it has nothing to do with the quality of the sisterhood, it has everything to do with the alumni/national support. New houses cost millions. Renovations cost hundreds of thousands. You can't do them without the support of your alums and the backing of nationals, because they all have a vested interest. So when you see a new or newly renovated house it means everyone associated with the sorority takes pride in it. And when a house is a dump, well, there are other issues there. As for DU, they were a bunch of douches who thought they didn't have to play by the rules. Their house had nothing to do with anything.

when will information about informal rush be released?

By: New tiger
by: Sad but True

New Tiger, one of 3 things must have happen 1) you didn't sign up for rush, 2) you were dropped by every house or 3) you thought you were better than the houses you had left so you quit. Here is what nobody tells you- There is no information about "informal rush", in fact you will never know that a house is doing informal rush maybe to fill a few spots unless you already KNOW someone in that house. Now you really have your work cut out for you. If you are still looking to join, you must email the chair of each sorority, let them know you are interested. Honestly, count yourself lucky if you even get 2 replies and if you were one of those that quit because you didn't like what you had left, you most likely will get a reply from the houses you had left (if your lucky). Good luck!
