if a house really likes you, will they overlook gp

The better houses won't take a grade risk unless it is a legacy with a sister in the house. There's a reason for that. The better houses have extremely high standards and someone who doesn't do well gradewise in high school isn't going to do well in college. Top houses can get whomever they desire, so there's really no need to take a chance. And because the majority of girls who go through rush are outstanding in so many ways, they will want to fill their pledge class with girls who will be an asset. Sorry, but it's true. However, you probably can find a house where you will fit in so don't be discouraged.

Actually, that's not totally true....a school like Mizzou attracts people from all over the country to certain programs where they are nationally known and come from prestigious high schools. A 3.4 at a top 100 high school is not equivalent to a 4.3 at Poplar Bluff High School.....the real denominator is the ACT/SAT scores. Some of these girls with a 4.3 have a 21 ACT....YIKES, whereas the 3.4 might have a 33. It all depends

You all have no idea what you are talking about. Many STEM majors go on to nursing school, med school or advanced engineering degrees.
Can anyone who is a business school major (or j school) do the STEM classes and get As? Maybe. Can a STEM major do well in higher level business/journalism classes? Possibly.
The point is, after the basic Freshman/intro level courses, each major specializes and their classes get harder overall. Students major in their specialty because that is what they excel at.
You cannot judge them on the same playing field.
