recruitment tips for pnms

A few words of advice from an active who knows a thing or two...
1) Remember that in the end, your sorority experience is really about finding the place where YOU fit - after all, this will be your "home" for the next 3-4 years.
2) Tiers are made for the insecure. If you like a house and feel you can be yourself with their members, then the perceived "tier" is just that...perceived.
3) Every one of the 15 PHA sororities are excellent houses full of women who could potentially be your best friends for life.
4) If Rush hands you "lemons", turn your choices into your own "lemonade". You have choices - you do not have to accept a house where you absolutely can't see a future for yourself. You can also give it a shot and see if your first impressions might not be accurate. Or you can drop altogether and find other groups to get involved with, or wait it out and join a house through informal or next year's formal recruitment.
5) Remember that sometimes when life doesn't go as planned or expected, that a "detour" might be the best thing to happen. Remember the phrase "Life happens when you're busy making other plans".
6) Sometimes your best bet is to go it alone. If you've got great high school friends going through recruitment with you, or in specific houses, and you all plan to pledge the same sorority but you aren't "feeling it", go your own way a chose the possibilities that will make YOU happiest.
7) Mizzou's Rush is one of the toughest in the nation...good luck!
