word of caution
by: TroothBetween now and when recruitment begins you will see all sorts of posts ripping all sorts of houses. Ignore them all. You have to ask yourself what would motivate someone to write such posts, and the answer is obvious: she was cut and wants some payback. Just as you wouldn't believe a glowing post about a house saying that it is wonderful in every way written by someone in that house who can't speak for anyone else's experience, you shouldn't trust a post by someone who for any number of reasons didn't get a bid. The only way you should make up your mind about a sorority is to see it firsthand, talk to several members and make up your own mind. Anything else is irresponsible.

This is especially true for mid to upper tier houses, which do a lot more cutting than accepting, making some enemies along the way. Why would you trust the opinion of someone who saw a house all of one time during the first round? It's not like that makes them an expert.

Yes to this post. Remember that greek life is not one size fits all. Different houses offer different things and you have to decide what's important. For example, some houses have very high grade standards and you will get lots of support academically. Other houses couldn't care less. Some houses focus on going out and partying. For others that's just a small part of the equation. Some are super supportive of their babies and encourage them to come to the house frequently. Others barely get to know them. Decide what's important to you and then ask around to see which houses best meet your needs/priorities.

Very true, aside from people being annoyed with Zeta trying to tier jump, you can blame it on jealousy
