Last time I looked ChiOs and PiPhis were beautiful, intelligent women who set their own agenda -- and that doesn't mean chasing after guys who aren't worth it. But, hey, if you are in a house that lives to impress guys with 2.3 GPAs who drink cheap beer, go for it. I would ask members of these two sororities to comment about whether I'm correct about this, but there is no evidence that they are ever on this site.

What does make you top tier then? ChiO isn't top in grades, are bottom socially, poor involvement, their philanthropy is average........

ChiO used to have an alum that would constantly comment "who is replacing chio if they aren't top tier anymore?" but she seems to have moved on

If PiPhi and ChiO don't deserve to be top tier, who does? PNMs love them and almost unanimously want to be asked back, their financial situation is exemplary, their houses (though very different) are more than attractive and extremely well kept up, they sign a range of types of women and can't be stereotyped, their grades are terrific... So tell us who does it better than these two? Because if you say it's by tradition not merit, you must have other houses in mind that merit top tier.

ChiO and PiPhi are the top two sororities at Mizzou, based on tradition AND merit.

Which are better? According to return rates, these are the top two favorites by PNMs. If you have other information, tell us which houses are better than PiPhi and ChiO.

For the love of god stop making up return rates, that is priveledged information and you don't go to school here (actively.) Those two houses are undoubtedly successful however that's due mainly to their traditional rep as being top - they haven't been anything but average since I've been here.

The truth is chio and Pi phi don't deserve their title as top in the slightest, and most girls aren't all that impressed with them during recruitment. Honestly you'll see more involvement in phi mu!

WHICH HOUSES ARE BETTER? And how many times do people have to ask. First of all, the return rates are quantifiable and pretty widely known. Second, these houses get the cream of the crop. Third, not one person has come up with two houses that are universally more respected than PiPhi and ChiO. Until there are houses to unseat them, they are at the top.

All of my friends wanted to keep these houses as long as they could. Most of us were disappointed when we were cut.

GPhi is more desired and many many houses outperform them in all Greek pillars (Theta - academics, GPhi/tridelt - social, ADPi/AXO - involvement.) No denying they're still desired but that's due to their reputation of being top rather than actually excelling at literally anything. Their desirability gets weaker and weaker with every recruitment.

Statistics really don't lie and if more PNMs want ChiO and PiPhi, doesn't that make reputation reality? Also, if you are saying Theta, Gamma Phi, AXO and ADPi are more desirable, I think you're wrong. There is not one house on that list that PNMS consistently pref more than ChiO and PiPhi. I get it that you wish these houses weren't at the top of the heap, but you haven't convinced anyone about the two houses that would take their place.

When you talk as though you have stats with this info it makes your word less credible and you probably went through recruitment a decade ago so take it from someone who went through recruitment last year, the houses mentioned are regularly being prefed over chio/piphi.

Stats from August 2016 recruitment were released by PanHell in November. The more you insist they don't exist the more you are embarrassing yourself. Give it a rest.

Pretty sure it wasn't November but those stats reports provide NO indication of which house is top, # of members, etc has no effect on rankings otherwise rankings wouldn't be up for debate.

Clearly you haven't seen the recruitment report and are just speculating. The portion of the report we are talking about has to do with the number of PNMs who want to return to a given house during recruitment and PiPhi and ChiO are at the top of the list. Of course there is more to determining the quality of a house, such as involvement, grade ranks, competitions, etc. But the popularity and desirability among PNMs certainly is one factor that can be quantified. It's hard to measure the quality of a sisterhood, not so hard to measure how many people wish they could be asked back and potentially join. That's why those numbers matter.

The poster, "So Sad" is absolutely correct. Our advisor shared her report with our rush team. You are able to see, for every day of rush, which houses the PNMs wanted the most. There is an overall ranking at the end of recruitment. Pi Phi and Chi O go back and forth as one or two every year. So, using the criteria "desirability by PNMs" those two houses are top.

The top house is the house where you fit in and feel loved/canmake quality friendships. Everyone is looking for something different...."tiers" are more on who is popular at first glance and actually do not exist in reality. Learn from high school that popular doesnt always mean happy or secure. Where I may like a house that paties, you may hate that crap and want a house that academically challenges you. Your roomate may want a house where she can find girls to get invoved in their philanthropy and others want to participate in dance and homecoming skits. Which is best? Find where you fit and let go of the tier mentality.--thats how you find the house for you.

More than 92% of PNMs want to return to these two houses during recruitment. That's the highest among all 15 houses. What about that isn't proof? I mean, I'm sorry you don't like these houses, but why do you not accept the proof that has been offered?

Ok, so you have made it clear XO and PBP have the top two return rates. Which houses hold 3,4 & 5 return rates ?

I believe the next three are GPhi, Theta and a virtual tie for TriDelt, Kappa and ADPi. Here's the thing. Return rates are all about how PNMs think of themselves. They WANT to have the confidence and the swagger of PiPhi and ChiO so they want to go back there hoping a little bit of it will rub off on them. It's very difficult to make a real connection during rush, so it's all about impressions.

Snap bids don't equal top 5 return rates. Doubtful about ADPi too.

The Top 5, in order, were PiPhi, ChiO, GPhi, Theta, Kappa. This can't possibly surprise anyone. And for doubters, remember that these return rates are calculated based on the first two rounds of parties only. Snap bids have nothing to do with anything because that happened after the last round.
