Not going to lie. My high school went from having about 30 people attend Mizzou to about 7...I hear if you rush a sorority from any of the suburbs of Chicago you are absolutely doomed because most girls who have made reputable sororities have been kicked out-no one knows why...is greek life even worth it? since there is hardly anyone from my highschool attending-why bother? Terrifed because I now my highschool had so many girls that were always recruited by a certain sorority, or two. Declining enrollment? Less girls going for greek life? Certain sororities going off the radar? thoughtsl?

Okay whoa, slow your roll sweetheart. Just because there are less people from your HS attending Mizzou, does not mean that you should not rush. That's dumb logic. Sororities at Mizzou will be fine, even with decreased enrollment. Greek life is still HUGE here. The whole point of college is to branch out, don't be afraid to stray from your HS clique, trust me it's worth it. I was the only person from my HS to attend Mizzou/go Greek, and it's the best decision I've ever made.

Not to mention, the one sorority you're talking about with girls getting kicked out (aka TriDelt) is going to be fine as well. They will always be respected on this campus. Besides I believe it was most of their senior class, and well they graduated... So yeah

^ I guess a TriDelt must have stolen your boyfriend. And on its worst day TriDelt is leagues ahead of Alpha Phi, which seems to have no standards at all.

Which of the above had to give out snap bids (ie bids to girls who couldn't get in anywhere) ? Hint: it wasn't APhi

APhi has had to COB every semester since I've been here.. So they don't really have anything on Tri Delt lol

Snap bids are so much worse, snaps are bids to girls who rushed and got dropped from everyyyy house. COB girls are mainly girls who didn't go through fall recruitment by choice. Snaps are the lowest of the low, never heard of another house doing this.

If only you actually knew what a snap bid was. Oh how I hate people who are boastfully ignorant. And, no, one time using snap bids is hardly worse than APHI COBing every.single.semester.

While my sorority has never given a snap (let alone like 20 and still fallen under quota) every Greek knows what it is - I mean, it's only logic, it's a bid given out to girls who don't have bids at the end of recruitment. Please, since according to you it's so much more sophisticated than that, enlighten us tridelt.

FYA: tridelt is struggling in recruitment mainly because they're giving bids to losers like @Truly who spend 10:30pm on Friday night online on Greek Rank. Tridelt you've really lost your way, but usually they don't even bother fighting it because it's undeniable (and pretty sad) at this point.

What makes you think I'm a tri delt? I'm just a person who is sick to death of one person's vendetta against a perfectly good house. I've said this before: if you don't defend other houses when someone comes after them with falsehoods and venom, then you can't complain when they come after your house. Tri Delt had ONE effed-up rush, in part because Panhel screwed up (and admitted as much). Snap bids were given, but not to random people. They were girls who had been asked back at least twice. That pledged class was inferior ONLY in the eyes of the Alpha Phi who is on this site 24-7 saying absolutely awful things about individuals and houses. I doubt she is even a student on this campus. Whether she is or not, she is the LAST person who should be critical about rush and retention problems, since her house is the most stunning example of both of those. After all, they are COBing ALL THE TIME because they can't keep the people they have. And I for one am SICK of her accusations and lies.

It's been 3 years, snaps don't happen randomly, two years of falling = the crash that happened last recruitment. Being asked back twice doesn't change the fact that these girls didn't get bids anywhere else, snap bids are as desperate as they get + you were still WAY under quota

Why don't you^ spend your energy making your house better, you vindictive Alpha Phi, instead of being a one-woman psycho btch ranting about TriDelt. Someone said it earlier and I concur: on its BEST day Alpha Phi can't compete with TriDelt.

There are fewer people from every school (in state or out-of-state) going to Mizzou because there are significantly fewer high school graduates than in past years. Plus U. of Illinois has really beefed up the number of in-state students it is taking (Wisconsin, too), so more grads are staying home and paying in-state tuition. But all of this means absolutely nothing. If you are relying from people from your high school getting you into a house, you really don't understand the concept of recruitment. The best houses take the best girls, no matter where they went to high school, and the rest of the houses take the leftovers. And why would you want to join a house that has a bunch of people from your high school anyway? It's time to grow up. If you are smart, attractive, involved, well-spoken and relatable, you won't have a problem.
