sophomore rush?
by: nkI here mixed things about sophomores rushing such as every house looks at sophomores first or that others don't care at all and it's hard to get a bid so what is the truth

It's hard to say honestly.. I know as a sophomore it's imperative that you be super outgoing, and really put yourself out there when talking to houses! You must have a decent college GPA (3.3 and up is likely ideal), and recommendations don't hurt either... As many posts have said before, it's easier for a sophomore to be successful in recruitment if she already has friends in a certain house, that way she has more pull when it comes to cutting time! As a whole, I know most houses are open to taking sophomores if they fit their overall requirements! Good luck, let me know if you have more questions :)

Be confident and know you have a chance just like any other girl. I promise that if you have what a sorority is looking for, they will want you whether you're a freshman or a sophomore. At the end of the day your interactions will be the main deciding factor of who invites you back and ultimately gives you a bid. Focus on being able to confidently talk about yourself, showing your personality, how to keep a conversation interesting, and how to rejuvenate a dying conversation. Of course grades, involvement, recommendations and looks are factors too, but no one is going to want to invite back a socially awkward girl who can't make connections with people even if she was her HS valedictorian, a member of 15 clubs, an all-conference athlete and pretty.
