gphi and pi phi reputations

GPhi is stronger social and Pi Phi is stronger academically. GPhi is more outgoing, fun party girls where Pi phi are more laid back party girls.

I totally agree w/the post. I'm from S. CA (came to MU for Journ. and love it here - a bit cold, but I was expecting that!) Both PiPhi and GPhi are VERY strong where I'm from & many of my high school friends pledged both houses. They were both on my Top 3 list but I ended up in the sorority where I'm a 3 time legacy and love it. PiPhi is a bit more of an "I don't care" edgy attitude - you can be pretty, smart, a major dope smoker, an athlete, apathetic, etc. and no one cares. I found GPhi to be more the traditional, Midwestern sorority girl type - very pretty, outgoing, many are athletic but more conformist. Both houses are awesome & that's why they do so well during recruitment. My best friends in Johnston last yr. were PiPhis & GPhis - love them both!

Yes, PiPhi is smart, edgy and full of independent thinkers who, for the most part, are really pretty and capable. GPhi is more a typical Southern sorority. Lots of pretty girls but no great brain trust there. More like followers than leaders. You really can't compare the two. Better to compare PiPhi and ChiO or GPhi and TriDelt.
