Before PHA started posting the houses recruiting in COB, it was used as a way to smear other houses and bolster yourself because there was no way to confirm it. Everyone was claiming Zeta was COBing until they realized the list was up and their lies were obvious.

I hope this helps end the stigma of COB.

Pretty sure the stigma still exists. It's just out in the open now. There are two reasons a house COBs. One is because they have lost so many girls that they have to fill the ranks. The other is that they might not have lost that many girls, but they have to fill every slot because their house is not financially stable. I'm glad my house never has to COB.

I go to a different school and there isn't a stigma about COB where I go. Granted, houses only have maybe 5 spots ever open. But they do COB for people who leave the school early on or even when students go to nursing school their junior year.

This is all wrong... Gphi and Tri Delt are currently CoBing, DG definitely has in the past few years, idk about Theta though.

Don't respond unless you know what you're talking about. I joined ADPi my Soph yr through COB. I'm not embarrassed of that & it has been a great experience. Many top houses like PiPhi & GPhi may take a whopping 2 new members. Many times COB happens when girls transfer, don't get into Nursing school, have an ill family member, etc. The only house right now that has completely collapsed & needs like 25 new members is TriDelt. Very sad that a former good house is now a $hit $how.

I work in campus recruitment across the states + Canada and there is only one house whose nations actually won't let them COB, DG and some chapters even get around that rule. There are so many made up "facts" on here, unless you want to have a completely false idea of what Greek life at Mizzou is like, pnms, please take everything with a grain of salt! This website is ruled by alum and random trolls.
