grades?

Will a 3.4-3.5 GPA be good enough to get into a house during informal next semester?

I wouldn't say decent but the fact that OP knows she could do better is a good sign. To answer the question, it's average for the upper mid academic houses so you definitely don't have to worry about your GPA hurting you during recruitment - just work on improving it if you are looking for internships or going to grad school. Positive note: first year is often the most difficult in a way because you're still learning how to study!

For many of the bottom feeders, GPA hardly matters. Nor do activities or honors. For most it's all about whether you know someone in the house. Sadly. And that's why they're bottom feeders.

Just because pretty houses choose looks and personality over grades doesn't mean they're bottom feeders, sorry your looks didn't make the cut

Only a member of a bottom feeder house would try to convince us that top houses have no pretty members. Do you think we all live under rocks? We can see how beautiful the pledge classes were for the top houses -- with a stellar GPA to match.
