kappa question?
by: mufreshI've heard that Kappa Kappa Gamma does not participate in Informal, but it is still possible to get a bid. Should I try becoming friends with a bunch of members? What should I go about doing to get the bid? Also, what other sororities are most likely to do this/informal in general?

I rushed as a sophomore and got what I wanted. As a freshman I didn't know much about Greek life and it was too late by the time I was interested. My freshman rommate was in my sorority and was the one who introduced me to all of her friends as she was making them. Often times at the beginning girls would literally confuse me for being a member (at the time at least) because I hung around them and at the sorority house so much. When I came toward the end of freshman year all of my friends begged me to go through recruitment so I can finally be apart of them and surely I did and got my bid!!! I of course had the GPA and other qualifications, but having 10 girls willing to fight for me was very helpful too.

No one says you HAVE TO maximize your bids. If you don't want to be in a house, don't list it. It's that simple. Maximizing is for people who have decided they absolutely want to be Greek, no matter which house. It's not for everyone. There are many people who would rather not be Greek than winding up with a house they don't want.
