aphi needs to be called out

If aphi is seriously trying to justify themselves in this situation and make it seem a 'funny, schoolyard incident' -they need to be called out. this is a serious offense, they were named in a police report. no one knows if the actual 'wording' was said-but if aphi is trying to minimize the situation, or make a joke out of it-that is a huge problem for them-and mizzou greek life. most know they've been all over these boards for months promoting themselves, but this crosses a line. NO ONE in greek life condones this type of behavior, and no one would try to justify or make a joke out of this behavior.
Enough is enough-this campus is trying to unite after last year-we do not need any sorority, or fraternity, igniting hate.
Who is heading things up at aphi, because this is BEYOND acceptable behavior.

Ummm The police report was released you can literally look it up and there were countless witnesses. Not that hard.

Okay that seems rather excessive. I would say they issue a statement saying that they don't stand for that kind of behavior and then kick that member out. Standing in front of the media and TV cameras and whatever else over someone saying a word is kind of ridiculous and will only bring negative light to the entire Greek system. Non Greeks don't know alpha phis letters from my letters so when one sorority does something stupid we all go down with them. I also feel the African American community will take things completely over board if the media gets directly invovled and will only lead to more tension. The whole country already thinks mizzou is a joke and mizzou already wants to rid of the Greek system. Stop giving them more things to talk about

LOL I'm not even white and you are the reason mizzou is such a joke today. While I agree whoever said that mean word sucks but get over it and grow some thicker skin. She will get her own karma. I've gotten called many hateful names before so has everyone else. Go back to your safe space

The world is a better place when people learn that there are jerks everywhere who say and do whatever they want and nothing, no workshops, no seminars, no news reports or suspensions are going to change their hearts and minds. So growing a thicker skin IS a way to get along, because you can't fix stupid.

We do live in the same world. The difference is that I and people like me will go through life knowing that it is our own self worth and ambition that will take us places, not worrying about what some idiot says or does that may offend us. You, on the other hand, will go off to your safe space and whine with all of the other delicate flowers about how our world should not be like this.

What is the difference, hmm? I have friends who are black that are happy as can be, they're treated exactly the same as I am. I have black classmates, co-workers, sisters and they all thrive as much as any other peer. Maybe you need to quit blaming your short comings on your skin color cause trust me, that ain't the problem!

No one expects LBC to issue an apology on this website. Expected is for them to issue a media release and have their president stand in front of the Student Center with TV cameras rolling and acknowledge that 1) only a single member heard a racial slur, which cannot be fully eyewitnessed, and it was far from DU 2) that according to the police report LBC members later hurled racial epithets at DU members and threatened to burn their house down 3) that such behavior is unacceptable and a threat to student safety 4) that those who been disciplined and removed from leadership position and are no longer a member of the LBC 5) that the LBC agrees that such behavior is unacceptable and that 6) LBC apologizes to the university and the Greek community for the former members' behavior and the embarrassment it has caused. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. And, yes, that's what my organization would do because it's the right thing to do.

I completely agree! Notice the second the police cameras proved LBC was in the wrong that the whole mess has gone away. Not a single word about it in the media. They do owe an apology to DU and Mizzou for dragging them in the mud over an issue they created.
