Not sure why Beta is just assumed to be so awesome. We all think they are actually pretty lame. Cute little rich boys but zero personality and seem like robots. SigChi are cool but not sure about their past few pledge classes. Have had a ton of fun with DU so far this year glad to see them back in action hope they can stay out of trouble for a few years. Those are generally the top 3. The rest are just meh.

Actually the hate comes from women who are sickened by Sig Ep's behavior and, even more important, their refusal to acknowledge it. Be a man and own up to your transgressions, get rid of the losers and insist on doing better. It's that simple. Until then, not one woman in my top tier house wants to be seen with a Sig Ep.

DU, Beta, Sigma Chi....these three are more selective and make more of an effort to meet the high standards of their national/international fraternities. They don't play "frat boy" nearly as much as some of the other Mizzou houses and seem to take "fraternity man" more seriously.

Phi Kap and Sig Ep just do not have the class anymore to include them among relevant fraternities. And, I think Fiji is a better fit for "relevant".

I sincerely disagree with those who include Phi Kappa Theta as a top fraternity at Mizzou. A number of my sisters and I have come to the conclusion that Phi Kap is not a brotherhood with integrity. Sadly, we've experienced it evolve into a frat...a bunch of boys playing boy games. And we would say much the same regarding Sig Ep.

I think you're right Observing, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. Phi Kap has declined. Sig Ep hasn't declined because it's yet to hold any promise of being considered a top fraternity here. Phi Kap's decline and Sig Ep's status quo have them now as two of a kind...like you say: boys playing boy games.

Beta is outstanding because its national insists on it. Sigma Chi has had its problems in recent years and the other three are hit or miss. Can't figure out how the sororities on this campus are so amazing and the fraternities aren't.
