Which houses have the best grades?

Typically you see Theta, Pi Phi, and Chi O somewhere in the Top 3-4. The others vary, sometimes it's ADPi, KD, Kappa, or Tri Delt.

Actually, it's AXO typically in the 5th or 6th spot, trading off with Tri delta. KD has only been in top 5 a couple of times.

Do you mean which houses have the best grades among members or which houses take the smartest girls? In both cases it would be Theta, PiPhi, ChiO and ADPi consistently. But what's even more significant is that the girls in high school with the best grades who pledge these houses also tend to have the hardest majors. So you will see lots of girls in these houses with excellent grades while majoring in accounting, nursing and some of the pre-med type sciences, whereas some of the houses without strict grade cuts have members limping along in much easier majors. When you look at grades it's not just about GPAs as it is about majors.

That is soooo not true! Especially in ADPi's case, journalism and music majors rule that house. Yes journalism is tough to get into but it's very easy to Ace and stay in lol

I don't hate any of those people! It's just inaccurate, I'm premed and have never seen an ADPi in any of my classes! Also, I definitely would not call nursing a difficult program (sorry.) Lots of girls from my school are in nursing and they're the ones who barely got by in the sciences. Also I can't really speak for accounting but ADPi's are mostly very artsy so they just don't seem the type. I know a TON of them in j school and music, that's just the truth, no reason to hate anybody for that. I would say they're the lower of the most academic houses, Theta, XO and Pi Phi are by far the most consistent and in my opinion, the most ambitious, houses on campus.

Pretty sure you don't go here. There are 300 ADPis on this campus and I can assure you many of them are majoring in the sciences (since, of course, there is no such major as pre-med). Of the 300, how many do you know? Of the 300, how many wear their letters to class? Of the 300, how many are exactly the same "type"? Way to stereotype. And, of course you must also know that you don't have to major in the sciences to get into med school; all you have to do is take the prereqs. My sister did it with an undergraduate degree in philosophy.

I'm well aware you don't have to major in the sciences to get into med school however sciences are clearly the best route for preparation and also is my passion, so it's an easy choice for those hoping to pursue a career in medicine. Funny how everyone "has a sister" who magically gets into prestigious graduate schools with subpar GPAs and/or liberal arts backgrounds, but I'm sure your sister managed, she's clearly a very special snowflake. And OF COURSE there are ADPi's majoring in the sciences, there are science majors in every house, however a good majority are in the above mentioned houses. If you're not in a science program, you can't really attest to the ratios. If you're an ADPi, you can agree that you have many many artsy sisters in your house. It's not a bad thing, you don't have to be defensive about everything!

I never post on here but this thread is just wrong so I feel the need to. I'm an adpi and a science major and there are a ton of other adpi's in my classes, we also have a lot of girls in nursing. You can't just assume that houses are all certain majors we have variety in every house on campus. Also, I don't know a single music major in our house so idk about that one.

With all the Type A's in the Adpi house, they are the last house I would think of as artsy.

Like I said, though any major can be admitted to med school, science majors are great PREPARATION for med school. You can't deny that. PS: horrible attitudes like ^yours are why ADPi is the least liked house on campus.

"Premed" truly is clueless about getting into med school. She clearly doesn't know the first thing about the MCATs. If she did, she wouldn't be surprised by this information provided by the Princeton Review: "Good reading skills are very important for the MCAT, even in the science sections. For example, humanities majors outperform biological sciences major on EVERY PART of the MCAT, not just the verbal section! Medical school admissions officers actually weigh the verbal reasoning section the heaviest of the entire MCAT, because they view it as a measure of a student's ability to learn and communicate." So do yourself a favor and stop speaking so condescendingly about non-science majors. (Mic drops)

Anyone who writes "like I said" instead of "as I said" probably doesn't have a chance of getting into med school. If you speak the way you write, well, good luck -- because you will need it.

People with undergraduate degrees in most of the sciences aren't any more employable than English or history majors. In fact, do you know what people call someone with a bachelor's in biology? Barista.

^ That's the truth. My boyfriend has a degree in biology and all it has prepared him for is more school. And more debt. He doesn't want to do med school, but majored in biology because it was always his favorite subject. Surprising as it may be, as a journalism major I have better job prospects than he does.

Anyone who took a science major and doesn't plan on attending grad school has completely wasted 4 years of tuition, someone should have told him that when he decided to major in a subject "because it's his favorite" instead of because of prospective career opportunities. But you could probably throw him in there with humanities majors, he's not alone, it's a major problem across the US. The troll above makes up random stats ALL the time to try and prove her point when she doesn't even belong to Greek life (and probably doesn't even attend mizzou.) A month ago she was sharing stats about how her sister with a 3.0 GPA got into Booth MBA, she's just a psychopath that lives to argue, don't mind her and please do yourselves a favour and don't listen to her either. She's also the one who made up the GPhi rumours can't wait to find out who she is ☺️

Hey, humanities major, you (and your "sister") do realize you need to take between 2 and 3 years worth of prereqs (most of which are science based) just to be able to APPLY for med school? PS: don't panic it's never too late to transfer out of your terrible choice of major!

You know how I know that troll doesn't go here? Aside from not being able to name the order of our Greek week events, she also claims we have humanities majors here. Hint to troll - that's not a major at Mizzou. Speaking of which she also made fun of me for calling my accounting major "accountancy." That is the correct and official term for my program. Get lost troll!

Now you're really reaching. No one said there was a humanities major, In fact, I doubt there is a school in the universe that has one. She used the phrase "humanities majors, and if you were a wee bit more enlightened you would know that the humanities include specific majors such as philosophy, literature, religion, art, music, history and language. The word is used as an umbrella, much like there is no one Arts and Science major, but a group of majors. Gosh, some people sure are ignorant.

Because I feel sorry for your ignorant ass, I will give you this advice. Google: Here's Which Humanities Major Makes the Most Money After College. Then when you read that story you can see that "humanities" is the generic term and it will specify all the specific majors that are within the humanities category. That way, if you ever venture outside of your home you won't look quite as stupid. The term "humanities major" is completely legit without being a specific major. Only truly ignorant people choose to stay that way. I'm trying to help you. Why are you so content to remain so stupid? It's exactly like this: you don't major in "engineering," you major in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or industrial engineering or whatever. But you are still an engineering major. Get it? Good God, I hope so.

Cool novel. Except you can major in humanities. You know this since it's probably your community college associates program. If I'm even talking to the right troll, doesn't really sound like the usual creepy ass lurker, she's not typically as angry as this one ^. Bad day? If so, care to explain how you didn't know that the accounting program is technically referred to as accountancy? It's only like our prized program at Mizzou
