why is zta a bottom house?
by: .Whenever I check the rankings on here, Zeta seems to always be ranked in the bottom 5, just above Phi Mu, Sigma, SK and KD. Why is that? Whenever I look at the girls Instagram accounts, they are kinda pretty, and they seem to be popular-ish amongst frats?(maybe they're not i don't know but I've noticed they aren't too bad), so what are the reasons for why people don't like them?

First of all, never judge a house on looks alone. Second, don't fall for what people say on this website, which seems to be the home of haters with little else to do. Finally, there's nothing wrong with Zeta. It has been on this campus for a long time and has a rich history. The only thing that really matters about sorority life is that you can find a home there. And the only person who can make that determination is YOU.

Exactly what the poster above said.
What is discussed on this site in terms of "tiers" and the real world of greek life have very little in common.
I do know that when I went through recruitment, Zeta was not one of the chapters girls were disappointed to get back - as a whole. Everyone had their favorites, based on their priorities and feelings, but when you hear that girls drop because they didn't like their options - Zeta was not (again as a whole) among those. It tended to be other houses girls took exception to. Although, I think even in the last year or 2 girls have become more open to all chapters.
So, why do people not like them? I don't think that is the case. I am sure there are some people who don't like Zeta...or some girls in Zeta. But as you can see there are also people who don't like APhi, GPhi, ADPi, TriDelt, etc....

Zeta is strong here, strong nationally, and especially in the SEC. They are getting a brand new house, their grades are okay, their girls are pretty cute and they have a lot going for them. A strong history. If you are talking about "mean girls" a few got that reputation and then some on this board won't let go. It's stupid and crazy.

My roommate CObed zeta. Don't try and hide it. Their retention is terrible. She said hey we're the third class to be initated last year.

Zeta is in the "bottom tier" because they're the last resort in their niche (social houses.) It doesn't make them a bad house, they just are the last choice for girls who are looking for that type of house. The reason for that is that the other "social" houses have a better rep than them. But that's not to say that a girl wouldn't choose Zeta over other mid tier houses outside of their niche. For example I would've chosen Zeta a million times over Theta or ADPi. No offence to Theta you're a power house, you just don't excel in the area I personally value most about Greek life.

I'm not "acting" like I don't know why Zeta is bottom tier. I'm a Freshman and I just went through rush and I'm really happy with the house I ended up with. My roommate is a Zeta and seems to really like it, but I was genuinely wondering why Zeta was always ranked like that, cause no one said anything. I literally have no reason to act like I don't know something.

Yeah I get that and that's been repeated several times before I'm just asking people why they rank them down. Cause with other houses people always give their opinion on why and how they're ranked the way they are, but I feel like with Zeta; people just rank them at the bottom without giving a reason so I was wondering about that.
