where are all of your sisters?
by: PNMI have a question.... How do houses choose the girls who are going to meet and talk to the PNM's? Is it true that houses "hide" some of their members so the PNM's won't see or meet them? Honestly, this concerns me if its true. Why would you have a member of your sorority if you don't want them interacting with the PNM's? Is it looks? Personality?

There are a lot more actives than pnms so not everyone can talk each round, some girls have jobs to do behind the scenes so they aren't talking, and there are also some girls not here because they have jobs or internships. We aren't "hiding" anyone, it's just how recruitment works.

There are far too many girls in our house to all be on the "floor" talking with PNMs at the same time. Plus there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done. Everyone in our house gets to talk to PNMs and we don't hide anyone, but not all girls are out front for each round. I'm in a top house and. believe me, we have our share of members who aren't a size 0. They are some of our most outstanding members and they are smart, outgoing and a very important reflection of who we are. And they are just as likely to talk with PNMs as anyone else. If you don't like us for who we are, and I mean for ALL of who we are, then we don't want you. But that's not much of a problem since 94% of PNMS wanted to return to our house after the first round. And, P.S., this is how most houses do it. That whole "hiding" thing is a myth.

Well personally I know that my chapter does group rotations so that sometimes girls get a little break in between parties. As far as "hiding" individual girls goes, I have a girl in my pledge class who has severe social anxiety, so my chapter makes an exception for her and a few other girls who don't have the best social abilities. It doesn't mean they aren't great girls, just that recruitment may not be the time fr them to shine.

Some girls really like being on the logistical side of recruitment too. I wouldn't call it hiding at all. We need those girls in the back doing jobs you'll find out about once you're on the other side, who just don't really like small talk and who make it run so smoothly for the huge amount of girls who are talking to 20+ PNM's a day.

How do you decide which girls meet the PNM's? What would they be doing behind the scenes?
