time to bail

by: Over it

I have tried posting replies to several comments and they disappear. The latest was a reply to the person who said Mizzou rush was not very brutal, and I pointed out that almost 40% of PNMs who start the process wind up not joining -- and that's brutal. Until this site stops censoring comments that reflect reality, I'm done. This was always a place to go to get a range of opinions and then to draw your own conclusions. Now that's not possible. It has become a waste of time.

Maybe your comment was deleted because this 40% BS is an entirely made up statistic- just stop.

In 2014 (the last year I could find complete statistics) there were 1,976 girls going through recruitment and 1,335 girls pledged a house. That year only 67% of girls made it. And last year, the percentage was worse. so it may or may not be 40% of girls who don't make it, but it is a very significant number. It's not like so many schools where if you seek to join a sorority you are guaranteed a spot.

Some of us are just sitting around upstairs lurking while our sisters are downstairs trying to come up with clever things to talk about. This IS our life, at least for today. Tomorrow it will be someone else's opportunity to be in charge of lurking. LOL!

You'd be better off stressing about real sorority life than the bs that goes on on GR!
