informal vs formal

you won't get the same experience if you don't formal rush. I highly recommend meeting people on your floor/ dorm who are greek and becoming really friendly with them and finding out through them if their house is going to COB and they can out a word in for you. If you want the whole experience and to see all the chapters, wait until sophomore year, but you musttttt have a good gpa as well as connections.

So with informal it happens very very rarely in the fall. And usually always in the spring. You kind of get to decide which houses you want to try to join. The best way to do this is to get in contact with Greek houses you are interested in. Contact their membership chair (which you can find it from their websites). Not every house does informal though. I recommend reaching out to houses throug informal and seeing if you like it and if you don't feel like you'll fit in in any of the houses doing informal or if you weren't given a bid then rush as a sophomore.
