why doesn't alpha phi require study hours
by: WhyThey could easily be on par with AXO, if they just worked on improving the active members grades wouldn't it be enough to bump them up a couple decimal pls? I understand not wanting to recruit different girls but that's not necessarily required to boost GPA. Seems like a win win to me, I don't get it

So apparently someone had the initial information wrong! MANDATORY STUDY HOURS will go in to effect second semester, not first! It was going to be implemented for first semester but because of so much negative discussion now, apparently it will be announced just before winter break. Mandatory study hours and fines if you don't attend. If you really want to be commited to a sorority and make a difference in taking a mid tier house to perhaps a better place this could be a good thing. Still discussion and debate on what acceptable fines will be. But for you aphi boards all over this site, why in the world would you even try to keep this a secret? Time to branch out aphi, be your own sorority ,do your own thing. You are not, nor will be for quite a while, a house like tri delt, piphi, gphi, dg or even zeta. You have some great girls, but unfortunately you lose those girls (the ones that think they need a semester to adjust so they cob 2nd semester-little do those amazing girls know they could have had had so many more options had they just gone through formal, and it's a shame they drop by mid sophomore year, not even a one year sorority experience). Get your act together, if you are implementing study hours, admit it, don't postpone it. Do your own thing-stop trying to be pi phi and tri delt, or even gphi or dg-they all have an image, be it good or bad or questionable. Just be honest about what you are doing!

Let's get some facts straight.
Alpha Phi cannot REQUIRE study hours. It is against their International policies and considered hazing. They can, however require study hours for girls who are on academic probation. So, all of the nay-sayers who seem to think APhi doesn't try to help their girls who aren't making grades, can stop.
Second, Alpha Phi does not fine for missing events, as it is the objective that members should go to events because they want to, not because they are being forced. This also comes in to play if girls work, have night classes, homework, etc ... to encourage them to remain a well-rounded student and not let sorority involvement take over their life. However, they do fine for missing formal chapter, recruitment, and initiation.
Can we be done?
PNM's .... know that every house will have a group of girls within the 200+ women who you will find someone to connect with. At the end of the day, it does not matter what your house's average GPA was -- it matters what YOUR GPA is, YOUR involvement. And honestly? Yes, Alpha Phi needs help in academics and involvement, look at it as an opportunity to make a difference!
Happy Recruitment.

when I googled mizzou and a few houses I wanted to look at social media for(tri delt, gphi, aphi, axo, dg, and zeta to be exact)this post came up. Is this true? Knowing how competitive and cut throat the world has become would a house really try to cut others down, flood a board with their name and then ask for posts to be removed? after looking at these boards for a while I'm now understanding things differently. and although this is a random board I did take the time to look back, even at posts that came up from a few years ago, to get a better handle on peoples thoughts. I'm def going in with a complete open mind, but as a journalism major I do like to research things. there seemed to be a couple op with this topic and then numerous responses(which when you do the extended search you see).not ruling them out, just curious

LMAO. Did you even think before you posted that? At first you tried to sound like an Alpha Phi knowing all these supposed details and you end the comment by hating on them. Good thinking. PS to pnms disregard anything this liar says, it's against national Aphi policy
