truth and tiers 101 for pnm's
by: RealnessIf you're on this site enough, PNM, I am sure you've seen multiple combinations and ideas of which sorority falls into what tier with a couple consistencies between posts. My point is I'm hoping you see how subjective tiers are and at the end of the day all that matters is the chapter that will make you happy, not some made up hierarchy that ranges from person to person. Focusing on tiers will make your recruitment experience anxiety filled and stressful. There is nothing wrong with joining any sorority wishing these tiers, but you should be evaluating what draws you to chapter more so than a reputation. Look for important things like values, humor, sisterhood, and overall vibe that's how you'll be happy. My freshman roommate was a girl from STL friends with many girls the year older than us in greeklife and I was from out of state knowing no one. She tried telling me all the tier nonsense, but I ended up having to politely tell her, I'd rather make my recruitment based on how I experience things, and it was the best decision ever for me. I am in love with my chapter. If I had listened to her about tiers and her personal biases, I might have not chosen my sorority (which quite frankly I'd choose again). Do you PNM's!
