dealing with pledge class drama

by: Oh boy

So I'm a legacy to a chapter my big sister is current an active member, and I am pretty positive I'll be giving her chapter some heavy consideration. Unfortunately the girl who bullied and harassed me in high school has an older sister who is a member of my sister's chapter. They're really close so I'm worried I'm going to be in the same pledge class as someone who loves tormenting me. Any advice on cordially getting through being in the same circle as this girl for another 4 years?

If she was that horrible to you, think twice about how miserable/awkward another 4 years will be spent as her "sister", and choose another house for the sake of your own happiness and fulfillment.

You could start standing up for yourself and tell her to f off. It's not high school any more. Time to stop playing the victim.

Even though you'll end up with people you know at Mizzou (half my high school goes here I swear!) I feel like college is really different from high school. I have seen people who really didn't talk to each other in high school become friends, and more often, best friends don't talk to each other anymore. When you take the 50 people from your graduating class and mix them with 4000 people from other schools a lot will change. As far as possibly being in the same pledge class, your pledge class will also have 90 other girls in it. We all have a girl from our pledge classes we despise tbh. Whoever says that they love all their sisters is probably lying! If you go through recruitment and still feel strongly that this is the house for you, go for it.
