rush and bid day

by:

Watched a few of the videos from bid day but what is it really like? Do people really run down the street to their new sorority? Are there really people out on the street cheering our is that all for the cameras? This is all new to me and I know how brutal people on these boards are but I am so curious of what to expect if I rush.

Yes you will run from the stadium to your new house. The people in the streets are other sororities and fraternity guys, bid day is a huge spectacle that people like to watch haha

Expect to get hugs from lots of different people, as well as tons of pictures taken once you actually get to your new house. It seems overwhelming and weird, but trust me you'll want to remember your first bid day. And most of all have fun! The girls at your house will be super excited to have new members, and likely you'll be very happy too :)

If you are drinking that early in the morning, you have a problem.

Yeah it's bad if you pre drink, you are not allowed to drink anytime from the start of recruitment to the next Monday. Trust me, your new house will not be happy with you if you can't even follow those rules.

Do yall seriously not drink on bid day? It definitely looks like something you'd drink at and I know my sisters school does. From my understanding of Greek life there's a lot of bending the rules

I know at least one house did last year off campus but that is a very slippery slope into getting in trouble for hazing new members. Sororities are about a lot more than getting drunk so no we don't bend the rules that much, that's what frats are for.
