is it worth rushing?
by: YoMy friend really wants to join Greek life, but she's hesitant to go through formal recruitment because of her GPA and wants to COB in spring. I personally feel like formal recruitment is the best option for her. Is a 2.5 good enough for her to get in zeta or KD?

No one should ever count on pledging a house during informal or COBing because there are no real rules and there is no guarantee she will even be asked to one party. It's all very sketchy and secretive. Her best chance is formal recruitment where she at least will get to see all of the houses and meet new people. She just needs to prepare herself that she won't be asked back to the houses that have strict grade cuts. And she shouldn't take it personally. But if she only had a 2.5 in high school, shouldn't she be more worried about doing well in her classes than dealing with the demands of sorority life? A 2.5 is VERY low compared to most girls who go through recruitment.
