informal?
by: PnmI traveled a lot when I was in high school and it took a toll on my GPA. I'm worried my options are minimalized because of my 3.0. So I was wondering how informal works? How to get involved? Chances of getting a bid?

Let's just ignore the poor girl who calls everyone a psychopath and doesn't know the difference between "affect" and "effect," and get back to the original question. A 3.0 is quite low for a h.s. gpa, regardless of the reason. That means that for every A she earned, she also earned a C, and I wouldn't want to go through our competitive recruitment with C's on my transcript. Better to wait a semester and go through informal, or wait a year and use your college gpa as a sophomore (assuming it's good). It seems the OP might be easily distracted and might not have good study skills, so it might be beneficial all the way around to work on the gpa and not let the demands of sorority life get in the way until she gets the studying thing down pat.
