informal?

by: Pnm

I traveled a lot when I was in high school and it took a toll on my GPA. I'm worried my options are minimalized because of my 3.0. So I was wondering how informal works? How to get involved? Chances of getting a bid?

I traveled a lot in high school, too, but it didn't affect my GPA at all. Still graduated with a 4.2 on a 4/5 honors scale. Can't imaging what one has to do with the other.

Just because it didn't effect yours doesn't mean it effected mine? I was out of country dealing with family issues. You don't know my situations. I was just looking for more information.

At my school if you were out of the country dealing with family issues, you would get an incomplete for that semester, make up the work and get a decent grade. Or possibly be allowed to pass/fail those courses. I'm sorry if you really had issues to deal with, but I'm even more sorry that you make excuses for yourself.

I think your inability to write a coherent sentence probably has more to do with your low GPA than traveling. Effect? It's AFFECT. And AFFECTED. Good Lord. Does Mizzou accept everyone with a pulse now?

Here we have HA, our favorite Mizzou basher, hating on the poster for CORRECTLY using AFFECT, which is a verb. Why in the world would someone who clearly doesn't know the difference choose this as an excuse to smear the whole university? Honey, when you learn the difference you can start insulting us. Until then, HA, STFU.

OMG, are you serious? You don't know the difference between affect and effect either? The more you talk, the more idiotic you sound.

Only a fool keeps arguing when she know she is wrong. Affect is the verb. Effect is the noun. Look it up, b itch. And What? is 100% correct. How do I know? My mother is on the copy desk of a Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper. She was the head of the committee that revised the grammar portion of the AP Stylebook, used around the world. I asked her. End of story.

You're a psychopath by the way you speak and if you had to ask your mom that's even more embarrassing. Psychopath

When you are looking up the difference between AFFECT and EFFECT, you might just want to look up the definition of PSYCHOPATH, too. Cuz I don't think it has anything to do with asking an expert for an answer.

Lmao no I think it has more to do with people who get SUPER ANGRY about grammar and write in CAPS on an anonymous SORORITY RANKING WEBSITE. That's more like it. 👌🏽

It's really hard to be wrong, isn't it? I mean, it just makes you so gosh darn defensive. You start calling people names and everything. And the next thing you know people are laughing at you and feeling sorry for you because you really wish you were right, but all you really can do at this point is try to change the subject. So sad.

I'm not even the girl who wrote it, I think whoever tried to argue that effect is a verb is also a little out of touch with reality. But I think you're crazy and get way too worked up, it's entertaining though, please continue.

Please take life (or at least GR) less seriously. We know you're that crazy ADPi by your awkward use of caps, so maybe you could find a new hobby, all your geeky little sisters are probably bored too! Maybe start a grammar society I bet they'd LOVE that

In other news, HA has decided that California is bordered by Rhode Island, Idaho and Mississippi. And even though she is 100% wrong, she is going to say insulting things about anyone who disagrees with her. Furthermore, she thinks that if someone disagrees it is absolute proof that Mizzou accepts anyone with a pulse.

Let's just ignore the poor girl who calls everyone a psychopath and doesn't know the difference between "affect" and "effect," and get back to the original question. A 3.0 is quite low for a h.s. gpa, regardless of the reason. That means that for every A she earned, she also earned a C, and I wouldn't want to go through our competitive recruitment with C's on my transcript. Better to wait a semester and go through informal, or wait a year and use your college gpa as a sophomore (assuming it's good). It seems the OP might be easily distracted and might not have good study skills, so it might be beneficial all the way around to work on the gpa and not let the demands of sorority life get in the way until she gets the studying thing down pat.

Good advice. Sometimes it's hard to balance everything freshman year. There's nothing wrong with waiting to go through recruitment.
