rushing as a sophomore

by: sophomore

I was trying to look up statistics or any information about what it's like rushing as a sophomore. I luckily came across this cite! Well, i skipped out on formal recruitment my freshman year because I changed high schools a lot, and it had a toll on my GPA (about 3.10). I wanted to really explore my options and find a house that really fits with me! After getting to know some actives and reputations of the previous year, I still didn't have a preference so I kept my grades up to around a 3.8 GPA! I know it's not perfect, but I was wondering if any houses would discriminate against the fact that I am a sophomore and I would be the oldest in my pledge class.

Don't automatically assume that you'd be the oldest in your pledge class! There could easily be women going through rush who didn't enroll in college immediately after graduating from high school. And, there are occasionally juniors who rush. Congratulations on getting your grades u to around a 3.8. I think you may be surprised as to how welcoming some of the houses will be. Good luck!
