I'm getting rec letters for recruitment, but I'm having a hard time getting them for some houses. Is it terrible if I don't have letters for two or three houses?

It's important to get them for top tier houses (XO, DDD, PiPhi, Theta, Kappa, ADPi, and to a certain extent AXO) but for les competitive houses like Zeta, APhi, Sigma, Phi Mu etc. it's not really necessary.

OP, Rec letters are always helpful to every house you can get! Our recruitment is very competitive and it would boost your chances to have at least one for ALL the houses if possible. Keep asking around and best of luck to you!

This year will be different. Our rush won't be nearly as competitive with fewer people coming to Mizzou. I doubt the lower tier houses will even meet quota.

Quota won't be determined until it is known how many girls are still in on pref night. Quota will definitely be lower this year than last year with fewer girls going through recruitment, and the pledge classes will all be smaller.

And that's a good thing. Pledge classes have been just too large lately. It's better to have a smaller pledge class so that you can really get to know the people you call "sisters." But I disagree that fewer girls going through rush means it will be less competitive. With smaller pledge classes, I think it might be even more competitive. And there will always be women who come to this school because we offer such a great sorority/Greek experience, so I doubt the numbers will be that much smaller.

GPA minimums will have to be lowered because all of the smart students are going to other schools. We'll probably have to "dumb down" everything at Mizzou

Agreed.

No reason to dumb down anything. Each year sorority recruitment attracts the best and the brightest. And each year the all-sorority average GPA exceeds the all-school and all-female average. There is no reason to think that will change and there has been no talk among PanHel reps or in my house about compromising our standards at all. Can't imagine why people think that will happen. The only consideration at this point is smaller pledge classes, which is determined by the quota formula.
