top 3 forever
by: SuzieI've noticed DDD. PiPhi. And XO have been top for the past 10-15 years. How do they remain to be the top houses?

A big part of it is the expectation from nationals. There are sororities like Zeta and Alpha Phi who just want to have lots of chapters, but once they are established the national doesn't do much to insist on high standards. In those cases, the national is more concerned with quantity, not quality. On the other hand, there are nationals like Theta, XO and PiPhi that would rather yank a chapter than have its standards compromised. I think that's apparent on our campus.

Yes, this was accurate in prob, eh, 2000(giving a year or two). Too many alumni on this board that keep ranking this . All still GREAT houses-top, no, great houses, YES! a LOT has been changing lately-they all should be in the top house for the next few years, but last year pulled in the top crop and our houses all took a hit-sadly, every university takes an off year but because of our enrollment decline, and decline in type of student-it's going to be rough..

Nice try, but it would be best if you actually knew what you were talking about. There is no way you were a TriDelt. You probably, in fact, saw the inside of that house exactly once. TriDelt is NOT primarily a Southern house, and most of its best chapters are in the Midwest and the Northeast. PiPhi has such a strict national that chapters stand at attention whenever someone from nationals visits. And Zeta? Don't get me started. A bottom feeder if there ever was one. As for Alpha Phi, they think they are doing well if they can colonize at Podunk U. with a student population of 7,000.
