enrollment down 2600 students for fall

by:

Student enrollment is now down 2600 for fall, surpassing the estimation of 1900. They are raising tuition, especially for out of state freshman.

How do you think this will affect this fall's recruitment?

Another unit that will be more severely impacted than average is Among undergraduate applicants, two demographics saw decreases of more than 5%: the number of African-Americans fell by 19% (n = 78), and the number of students with an ACT score of 30 or higher fell by 7.7%.
The university’s long-standing Honors College, which requires an ACT score of 29 or above (or an SAT score of 1290 or above) for admission. The 7.7% drop in the most-academically-qualified applicants is worrying enough; the Honors College administrators should remain worried until the deposits come in – especially since Missouri residents have an attractive public college alternative in Truman State University

If they were truly smart, their diploma wouldn't come from a school no one has heard of from outside missouri.

Not sure a diploma from Mizzou will be worth the paper it's written on before too long.

From the Princeton Review college edition:

"Truman State University is Missouri’s premier liberal arts and sciences university and the only highly selective public institution in the state."

It must be an embarrassment to Mizzou that little ol Truman State is considered the ONLY highly selective public institution in the state. Our 80% acceptance rate was BEFORE the protests. It's probably more like 90% now.

I'm from out of state and have never heard of Truman State. I also was accepted at Illinois, Wisconsin, Grinnell, Lawrence and McAlester, so I know about selective schools. Truman State isn't one of them. I opted to attend the nation's top journalism school and haven't regretted it for a minute.

Two years ago freshmen were forced to live off campus if they didn't get their applications in on first weeks of offering application. Now, all of roar is over and they are begging upper classmen to live on campus. Too bad everyone already has expensive leases they entered into last fall before all the nonsense went down.

Glad I'm not a freshman, at Illinois state they make sophomores live in dorms

I predict that sophomores will be required to live on campus 2017-18 unless they are Greek or get a waiver...
