just my opinion from formal recruitment

Tell me what you think but this is what I thought about all the houses during formal recruitment coming from someone who was an out of state and didn't know anything about the reputations on campus. They can basically be sorted into 3 categories: liked, disliked, and forgettable (not in order). Not saying these are bad/good houses but some are just better at recruitment than others
Liked:
Pi phi, Chi o, phi mu, Axo, SK, Dg
Disliked:
Tri sig, Zeta, Tri delt, Aphi, Theta
Forgotten:
Kappa, Kd, Gphi, Adpi

They were really boring. Nothing about them stood out to me and they were just forgettable.

Disliked- sigma, phi mu, adpi, theta, aphi, kd
In between- chio,, tridelt, Sk, kappa, axo
That's the order I remember from open house days. I wanted to like some because of friends, reputation etc but just knew I didn't fit w the girls. I ended up in the perfect house for me!

I don't dislike the houses themselves. I have friends from HS and friends I have made in college in the last few years in almost every house mentioned. I just didn't like these houses for me. I didn't know anything about more than a few houses - ( some of my older brothers friends and folks I got letters from) and yes- I actually liked supposed bottom tier houses. Now that I have been here a couple years- I know I ended up in my absolute favorite one and it was a great match for me. Just like it is a bad idea to date someone others think are great, if you don't love them you are making a mistake. Some might think my BF isn't hot enough , but I do and his personality fits w mine like a puzzle. So should be your choice w your sorority. I onoy made my list to show how unusual or unique your list may be. It will likely not be like anyone else's in your recruitment group. Don't worry about it!

So you were really only focused on being top tier. That's fine. You don't have to want to join a house to be impressed with them. Personally I was shocked how much I liked some of the less "popular" houses on campus, particularly KD and Phi Mu. I had other choices I preferred and ended up going with my legacy house. But I was really impressed with a lot of houses I didn't think I'd like because of things that were said about them.
Honestly the only houses I was truly unimpressed with were Theta and Sigma. Theta had a conflated reputation that I didn't feel they matched in person and Sigma was just a sad experience. I couldn't hear anyone talking, we were all packed into a room like sardines, the girls all seemed nervous.
Other than those two houses I had some level of being impressed by all of the houses when I rushed.
