Will everyone that doesn't drop rush get a bid this year? I was just wondering lol

Unfortunately no. I had a friend that had Tri Delt, Chi O and kappa left and got a call bid day morning that she did not receive a bid. It definitely helps if you maximize your options and list all the houses you have on pref day but with only having two houses on preference day this year, I'd imagine your chances will be even smaller.

2 houses? Not 3? What happened?

The way Mizzou has designed their rush is that nearly every girl who maximizes her options will get a house on Bid Day. There will be scenarios where girls have three houses at the end and then they all cut her but it is very rare. Mizzou decides quota every year based on the number of girls going through rush so that we can place as many girls as possible.

But if you suicide or refuse to pref a certain house, it hurts your chances.

I know for a fact Mizzou can still cut girls before they get a bid because a girl in my house had Theta, XO and Kappa on pref night when she rushed as a freshmen and got the call from her Pi Chi the next morning saying she didn't have a bid. She was below the quota cut-off in each of those houses so she ended up bidless.

But I need to stress how impossibly rare it is for that to happen. The system is designed to ensure everyone who maximizes their options and doesn't drop out receives a bid.

The way to prevent this from happening is to keep just two top houses and improve your odds by also including a lower-mid to lower tier house on pref day. If the thetas, kappas and XOs of the world asked you back that many times, it is still possible you would rank in the lower third on their bid list and not get any house. But if you were to include a house like Alpha Phi or Zeta, they would be thrilled to get someone that highly thought of and you likely would appear at the top of their list. But only do this if you are willing to settle for one of those houses.

This is pretty misleading, if you're going after xo, theta or kappa and want a safety, you'd wanna choose a lower mid house like ADPi or KD.
If your reach house is GPhi, Pi Phi or Tridelt? Go with APhi or Zeta as a safer bet but even then, APhi isn't overly safe.

True dat, ADPi is to Theta as APhi is to GPhi

Theta, ADPi and Kappa are pretty interchangeable in my book.

Only an ADPi would say such a thing, you're the least desired out of the bunch by a long shot, pnms chose AXO over you...

ADPi is way better than Theta that's common knowledge....

You keep going back and forth about this, but the reality is that houses won't meet quota even if everyone gets a bid. We don't have enough students coming to Mizzou to fill our openings.

Ya fckn right ADPi are total wannabes, they're an insecure, more dumb version of Theta. No one wants to be ADPi, I mean no one

I think the quota will just be smaller meaning the number of girls in each pledge class compared to the amount of girls going through will be the same....just smaller numbers all around

The norm for previous years won't apply anymore. With our drop in applications, fewer girls will be rushing. Simple math. The only good thing to come from a lower enrollment is a better chance for girls to pledge. But at what price? Mizzou is suffering and I don't see any improvement anytime soon.

I'm certain the quality of houses will remain the same, but quota will be smaller. There is no way in the world PanHell wants to dilute our quality system. The same can be said for those who enroll. Those who are scared away by the idea of equality for all students are not exactly the enlightened sort of student this institution wants anyway.

@nope you don't even see the hypocracy in your statement, do you? First you talk about the quality of the Greek system not being "diluted," and then go on to rip on people "scared by the idea of equality for all students." You can't have it both ways. If MU is equal opportunity, then that should apply to Greek life also. No more recruitment, cuts, etc.; everybody gets a bid. That is the only fair way to handle it and make sure everyone gets to participate.
