actual unbiased real tiers

by: Actually

Look at it this way, in a Greek system as diverse as ours it's hard to really distinguish between tiers. The way I see it, our school has two groups of sororities. If you fit in one you most likely would fit into all of them (although some somewhat better than others.) The distinction is girls who focus on friends, school, working hard and not so focused on boys or looks - and girls who focus on their social life, trend setters, have a competitive spirit, not AS focused on grades or leadership (but not entirely in the woods) - the "popular" girls.
Here are the two groups, in order of tier. You'll notice it's a lot easier to sort tiers this way.
Group 1: XO, Theta, Kappa, AXO, ADPi, KD, ?SK?
Group 2: Pi Phi, GPhi, Tridelt, APhi, DG, Zeta, Phi Mu, ?Sigma?
Usually, your pref card will show only houses from your respective group. There's of course people who might end up on both if they're a little more well rounded and unsure (myself included I had XO, DDD and Aphi) but for most of the people I see go through rush it's pretty accurate

In the battle between APhi and ADPi, sadly, there are only losers. And considering PiPhi has among the highest, if not THE highest grade cuts during rush, why in the world would they be put in THAT group?

They're put in that group because they are awesome socially, they're top of that group because they're the most well rounded. That group isn't stupid - they're just really social. Just like XO being top of the first group, they're also the most well rounded of the bunch that's why they're #1.

I agree with your idea, but Phi Mu would be in group 1. And maybe Sigma would be in group 2, or trying to attract girls to compete on the same level with Zeta and APhi

Pi phi may have some cross over but I am a social girl and the only 'academic' sorority I even considered was Pi Phi. There are academically successful types in all sororities, but the strong emphasis is not pushed at Pi phi and makes them more palatable.

This is from the ole miss page and it works much better with their more defined sororities, and not so much with our large number and very diverse chapters.

Yea idk is its super common with GPhi and Pi Phi... like do your sisters see it? I haven't seen or even heard of anyone in my sorority doing anything beyond molly and I'd be super uncomfortable to see it around me.

No one is arguing that Aphi & DG are top. They were referenced as mid.

I always think it is a good idea to judge an entire sorority of 300+ girls by the actions of one girl several years ago, don't you? I think that is the very best way to determine a house's quality.

They're known for it beyond one incident, I know gphi is working hard to clean up their act which means in a couple years theyll be alright
