Has anyone ever noticed that the higher quality universities have fewer GR posts? Wash U has 2500, Vanderbilt has 2200, University of Chicago has 200, Duke has 3500. And the mediocre schools have so much more...Ole Miss has 25000, Bama has 51000, and we have 32000. Hmm. Seems like the smarter kids have more interesting and important things to do than waste time on GR. Just another example of how Mizzou is bad and is just getting worse.

I wonder if it is because their school enrollment is a small fraction of Mizzou's. Or maybe because we have more girls who don't make it into a house than they have in their entire Greek community. Or maybe it's because their Greek system sucks. Nah, that couldn't be it.

Well, UVa is a huge state school but really strong academically AND they have a huge Greek system but they only have 4000 posts. Blows your point, doesn't it.

I think it's just because we don't have anything important to do.

UVa. rush is not nearly competitive. About 25% of girls don't make it into a house/drop out at UVa whereas the number at Mizzou is closer to half. Chapters there are smaller with the typical pledge class less than 60 members. And enrollment at UVa is just 21,000 whereas Mizzou is 35,000. So, a less competitive rush, fewer students and small sorority membership might have something to do with it. But I don't want to confuse you with the facts because you've made up your mind.

It has nothing to do with academics. Plenty of crappy schools have GR with only 10 pages. Mo state is easier to get into and ranks lower than mizzou nationally yet their Greek rank page is usually dead... Same thing with Semo and UCM. The majority of schools have dead Greek rank pages... The only schools with active Greek rank pages are the schools where Greek life is an extremely prominent part of the school. GR is obviously more popular at schools like ole miss, Alabama, mizzou because Greek life is a huge here....

UT you need around a 4.0 and a 28 act for acceptance ( about the same requirements for vandy) and their greek rank page has over 20000 posts. It has zero to with the schools academics and everything to do with how big greek life is at the school.

And also how competitive the greek system is!

I think there is a direct correlation between the quality and competitiveness of Greek life and the number of posts on this site. Let's remember, a lot of people who post were rejected by the houses they wanted during rush and are seeking some sort of revenge. And at this school at any given time there are thousands who didn't make the cut.
