help me!!
by: pleaseeHey! I am planning on rushing next year, and I know it is important to have recommendation letters before recruitment. Can someone please explain the process to me? What do I need to send to whoever writes my rec? How soon should I start getting in contact with people about it? I have tried to do some research into this but I'm still pretty confused. Also, should I try to get recs for as many houses as possible? Thanks, any help is much appreciated!

Hi doll! I would ask around your friends to see if their mothers were involved in Greek life- it's a start. Make sure you have a copy of your transcript thus far and a resume also listing your Greek affiliations to give to them, as well as (if you're not doing this electronically) a postmarked 8x11 envelope (no crease marks!) for them to send your letter, transcript, and resume in. Lastly, make sure you write instructions for them to do so and say thank you! Send thank you notes after they send your Rec. if you find yourself coming up short in letters, register with your local Panhellenic community and they will have women from your area write letters! don't stress too much, rec letters aren't weighted too heavily, my current house I didn't have letters for, and you have plenty of time to get them no matter what other girls are doing and what older women say. Missouri is a great school and you seem wonderful so good luck & follow your heart.

That's your opinion, but I really don't care! I'm not at the bottom of my class, but I'm not going to humor you by listing out my grades and credentials. I'm getting great scholarships at Mizzou and financially it was the best choice for me. I hate to even reply to your comment, but I really don't see what your motivation is for being so negative. Most people on this site are either current or future students, and I doubt a random person's opinion is going to make them doubt their college decision. It certainly isn't making me doubt mine.
